My laptop automatically updated to version a week ago. I use English US and a few other languages. I suspect that this has something to do with my original software version.
Back when I bought the Windows 8 installation disc, it was for the United Kingdom, because that’s all the store had to offer me. However until now I never had a problem with removing unwanted languages and adding new ones.
The drama is that my laptop keyboard has an American layout, so when I want to type in something and English UK is on, I mess up and have to check the selected keyboard language every time. I have just figured it out today, the fix is relatively simple, get to this screen right here and click on the Administrative language setting on the right panel.
Change the language to your preferred one and hit OK, then Apply it and restart the computer. After that, it should be fixed for sure. Posted 04 April – PM. Doing this allowed me to add all the offending keyboard layouts and then subsequently remove them.
