What is the solution for this issue? Is there any place where I can download the earlier version of MS Access? As noted in another answer, the official word from Microsoft is to open an Access 97 file in Access and upgrade it to a newer file format. Unfortunately, from now on many people will have difficulty getting their hands on a legitimate copy of Access or any other version prior to Access , or whatever the latest version happens to be. Access adamantly refused to have anything to do with the Access 97 file, but SQL Server imported the tables without complaint.
Or, if your goal was simply to get the data out of the Access 97 file then you could continue to work with it in SQL Server, or move it to some other platform, or whatever.

Kallal I think he means Windows 64bit, not Access runtime 64bit. But yes, using the exact same Access version everywhere is a must. All clear but one question remains, when downloading the latest runtime version, the version number of Access seems to be older than some others two windows 7 computers also have different Access versions.
